Sami Zayn has talked about his plans for Dominik Mysterio if he wins the King of the Ring
WWE brought back King of the Ring tournament this year heading into the Crown Jewel PPV. Sami Zayn took on Rey Mysterio in the first round of the tournament this past week on SmackDown. Zayn managed to pull off a massive upset by beating Mysterio.
While it looked as if Mysterio will be able to get past Zayn easily, he had different plans. Zayn featured on Talking Smack after the match where he was asked about what he’d do after becoming a King. Zayn responded:
“I am so benevolent that maybe, I’ll even anoint a prince. Prince Dominik Mysterio,” Zayn teased. We already know his father Rey has no chance of being king anymore because I beat him. But Dominik still has a chance at being royalty. So the first thing I’ll do as king is I’ll free him from his authoritarian ruler, from his tyrant, his father. I will set him free as King Sami.”
Zayn certainly has plans for separating the father and son duo. It was also recently revealed that Dominik could undergo a storyline change and could also turn against his father. Zayn winning the King of the Ring could eventually end up as a beginning of the end for the father son duo.
What’s next for Sami Zayn?
After defeating Rey to advance to the semi-finals of the Crown Jewel Zayn is set to face Finn Balor next week. Balor defeated Cesaro to secure his spot in the semi-finals. Both men would try to get the better of each other and secure a place in the finals scheduled at Crown Jewel. The second finalist will be heading on from Monday night Raw.
