WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns claims he can “smash” UFC legend Daniel Cormier

During an interview on Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show, WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns has claimed that he would smash UFC legend, Daniel Cormier.

Reigns was on the show talking about his love for UFC, as well as his current on WWE. “The Head of the Table” is currently locked in a heated feud with Royal Rumble winner Edge, along with Daniel Bryan, who came close to beating Reigns at the Fastlane PPV event last month.

Reigns was scheduled to take on Edge at WrestleMania 37 later this month. But, following their battle at Fastlane, Bryan was also inserted into the fight, making it a triple-threat bout, which will be the Main Event of ‘The Showcase of the Immortals’ on April 11.

Reigns claims he can smash Daniel Cormier

During the interview, Reigns was asked whether he preferred one-on-one fights or triple-threat matches. In response, “The Tribal Chief” said that one-on-one bouts were his preferred choice as he has entire control over the proceedings.

While answering this question, he also brought up how he could smash anyone in one-on-one matches, including UFC legend Daniel Cormier.

“I like one-on-one, to be honest. I’d smash anyone, whether it’s Daniel Bryan one-on-one, Edge one-on-one, DC [Cormier], I’ll smash them all one-on-one.”

“Get him from behind the table, get him back in the gym, maybe you could have a chance, I don’t know. It would be a short story I’ll tell DC.”

Cormier announced his retirement in August 2020 after his defeat to Stipe Miocic in their trilogy bout. Regarded as a legend in the MMA circles, the 42-year-old ended his career with a record of 22-3. Him throwing down punches and trading blows with Reigns would certainly be an interesting sight for the fans.
