Rob van Dam talks about his plans to return to WWE in the future

Earlier this week, Rob van Dam appeared on WWE’s The Bump as he surprised Matt Riddle, who was giving an interview.

The superstar arrived on the show to talk about the latest edition of WWE Icons, where he features in the most recent instalment.

This episode aired just hours before night two of WrestleMania 37 and it was great to see RVD make his WWE return, albeit it being outside the ring.

This led many fans to question if he could feature more on the show. RVD is retired, of course, and hasn’t fought in WWE for almost 7 years.

He did make a special appearance on the special RAW reunion episode of 2019, but that was about it for his third return to the promotion.

Rob van Dam has “no plans” of WWE return

And a fan on Twitter asked RVD if his ‘Mania appearance was a one-off, or if the WWE Universe can expect to see him on a weekly basis in the future.

His reply to that question was short, and probably something the fans did not want to hear, as he revealed that there were no plans of a return happening anytime soon.

RVD is one of the biggest names to be associated with professional wrestling in the 21st Century. His WWE exploits in the 2000s earned him a place among the immortals.

‘The Whole Dam Show’ was picked in the Class of 2021 for the WWE’s annual Hall of Fame induction a few days before WrestleMania 37.

Now 50, he would not be as agile or high-flying as he was a couple of decades ago, but it would be sure be a sight to behold to see the reception he gets when (or if) he ever makes a return inside the ring as a Hall of Fame inductee.
