The Nature Boy recently took to social media and shared a video of his wife Wendy training under his watchful eyes. Wendy could be seen running the ropes and doing some drills on the mat. Flair was willing her on from the outside. He instructed Wendy to complete 20 push-ups in the end and she passed the test with flying colors.

The 73-year-old Flair will be seen in action once again as he will step through the ropes to compete one last time on July 31, 2022, for the Jim Crockett Promotions in the Nashville Fairgrounds in Nashville, Tennesse. The Mayor of Nashville has declared July 31 as ‘Ric Flair Day’ to commemorate the legendary wrestler’s last in-ring appearance.

The match will be held as a part of the Starrcast V banner. Former WWE referee Mike Chioda will be the referee for Flair’s last match.

Mark Madden gives his opinion on Ric Flair returning to the squared circle

Ric Flair will compete in a six-man tag team match. His last match took place more than 10 years ago when he lost to Sting on the September 15, 2021, episode of Impact Wrestling.

Mark Madden and Flair were friends for more than three decades. However, they had a fallout earlier in the year. Madden expressed his opinion on Flair’s last match on the “Keepin’ It 100” podcast. He felt the idea was “terrible” because of Flair’s age and also the health issues he has had over the years.

“I think it’s a terrible idea,” Madden said. “I think putting a 73-year-old man with a pacemaker, who was in a coma four years ago, in the ring for a match is just a terrible idea, and to be fair, full disclosure, if I was still a Flair crony and a sycophant, I’d be saying, ‘It’s great, look at The Naitch. One last drive, blah blah blah.’ I would be no better.” (1:59-2:19)
