Another handful of superstars were released from WWE, including Nia Jax and Keith Lee

WWE has again removed quite a few players from their main roster today. The company has released superstars like Nia Jax, Karrion Kross, Gran Metallic, Eva Marie, B-Fab, Harry Smith, etc. 

According to Fightful (h/t Wrestling Inc.), one of the critical names includes Keith Lee, who just returned after over half a year on the company. This came weeks after he re-emerged himself on the company with a new nickname, “Bearcat.”

WWE Chairman Vince McMahon saw something in Keith Lee after his break-out performance in Survivor Series last year, but something drastically changed since coming to the main roster.

18 wrestlers were released today, including several mainstream players like Mia Yim and several NXT recruits like Scarlett Bordeaux, Oney Lorcan, Franky Monet, Ember Moon, Katrina Cortez, Jeet Rama, Zayda Ramier, and Trey Baxter.

Savelina Fanene is an Australian born-American professional wreslter who was signed to WWE under the name Nia Jax. She is one of the potential stars who was released. Jax won the Raw Women’s Champion at WrestleMania 34 by defeating Alexa Bliss.She is also the cousin of Roman Reigns and The Rock.

Jax returned from injury on April 6, 2020 and defetaed Deonna Purrazo in a squash match. In August she teamed up wiht Shayna Baszler and defetaed the then WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Bayley and Sasha Banks at Payback to win the title.

At Royal Rumble they again defeated Asuka and Flair to became a record-tying two time WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions. They defended the title on various occasion before finally ending their reign at 103 days. She was out of the company for a while due to injury and never make a comeback.

Her release comes as a bit of a shock given how dominant she was in the women’s division.
