Billie Kay and Peyton Royce are no longer with WWE after latest axing

It is the end of the road for Billie Kay and Peyton Royce on WWE. The two Australians joined NXT all the way back in 2015.

And three years later, they formed The IIconics, a force to reckon with in the women’s tag team division on the main roster.

What followed was an iconic (pun intended) WrewstleMania 35 moment where they went on to win the women’s tag team championship.

The trailblazers became the first Australians to win a title at WrestleMania. The team disbanded last year after the 2020 draft and the decision to sack them is sudden, yet not totally unexpected.

But they have given a lot of moments for fans and their peers to remember them by. Sharing one of them this week on Twitter was former SmackDown women’s champion, Bayley.

The IIconics were in attendance alongside Bayley a the Raymond James stadium last weekend as they watched WrestleMania 37 unfold.

And Bayley, whom The IIconics feuded back in 2019 during her time in The Boss ‘n’ Hug Connection, posted a video of her two friends reacting hilariously while being recorded.

She captioned the video:

“This 17 second video sums up what Cassie and Jess mean to the wrestling world. Watching the main event of Wrestlemania live in the crowd because they LOVE WRESTLING. And when the camera hits them….they make the same exact face (without hesitation) to make me laugh. [Red Heart emoji]”

This is one of the bleakest times in the calendar year for WWE fans as they have to bid farewell to stars they have come to like and follow over the past several years.

But the two talented Aussies should not have any problem finding new work once their 90-day no compete clause runs out and hopefully we can see them in a big promotion like AEW or IMPACT soon.
