Paige was the SmackDown GM for a while and didn’t believe William Regal was the greatest WWE GM
WWE has had several GM figures taking care of Raw and SmackDown over the years.
Many top stars such as Kurt Angle, Mick Foley, Bret Hart and Daniel Bryan have taken up the reigns. Female stars such as Paige, AJ Lee and Vickie Guerrero have also been the GM for the two brands.
However, one GM has outdone most of them and that is William Regal. While the British star had authority roles during his wrestling days, his work on NXT has been incredible.
Regal makes the right matches and is a proper authoritative figure for sure. While Fox asked if Regal was the greatest GM in the history of WWE, Paige chipped in with her thoughts.

Short-run as the GM
Paige made some big decisions as the GM of SmackDown but Regal has been on another level.
Paige was also the GM for a few months before she was attacked and then went off TV. She had been nursing an injury and underwent surgery and we haven’t seen her since the final month of 2018.
Paige has become a full-time streamer and posts videos on Twitch constantly. Regal, for his part, has been exceptional in his role and most would admit he is the greatest GM to have graced the promotion.
While most of the storylines are preset and decision, the role of the GM still has to be executed. Regal might not have had the most stellar WWE career during his wrestling days but the British star is giving us an incredible performance week after week as the NXT GM.
