Nikki Bella has apologised for some distasteful comments about legendary WWE wrestler Chyna

Nikki Bella is one of the most notable women’s wrestlers in recent times. She comes to the spotlight for a different reason as old comments about former WWE Superstar Chyna resurfaced.

Nikki was on “Fashion Police” back in 2013 and a video shows Bella holding up a photo of Chyna and saying, “We don’t know if it’s a man or a woman.”

She took to social media to produce a statement saying: (h/t TMZ)

“I am sorry and embarrassed by my 29 year old self, who offended Chyna and, in turn, hurt her family and others,” the 37-year-old wrote. “I wish I could take it back. Please learn from me, it’s not worth hurting someone’s feelings for a meaningless laugh.”

“Chyna will always be remembered as an icon and pioneer who helped created the opportunities for women in wrestling that exist today.”

Chyna is an inductee of the WWE Hall of Fame as a part of D-Generation X in 2019. She is one of the most iconic wrestlers in women’s history.

The late wrestler’s family clarified that Bella has privately apologized and asked the public to move on as it was “in the past.”

Chyna’s career in WWE

Chyna was one of the most dominant wrestlers since making her WWF debut in 1997. She has also worked for New Japan Pro Wrestling and Total Nonstop Action Wrestling. Her foundation of D-Generation X is still considered to be one of the biggest factions in history.

She was also the first woman to hold the Intercontinental Championship, which she won twice. Chyna was also the first woman to qualify for the King of the Ring Tournament and the Royal Rumble Match.

She died of an accidental overdose in 2016, having problems of substance abuse after retiring from professional wrestling. This legend will always be remembered in the history of the women’s division for years to come.
