Natalya is one of the most technically sound female wrestlers in the company
Natalya has been in WWE for the last 15 years and accomplished a lot in her career. She is a third-generation female wrestler and the daughter of the Hart Foundation member and Hall of Famer Jim Neidhart.
The two-time Women’s World champion recently revealed her favorite WrestleMania moment in a video released by WWE on its social media handles.
Natalya has been involved in various epic WrestleMania matches. Her pick was WrestleMania 37. On the first night of the two-night affair, Natalya teamed with Tamina. They won a tag team turmoil match to determine the no.1 contender for the Women’s Tag Team Championship.
By virtue of their win, they faced the tag champs Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax on night 2 of WrestleMania 37. Tamina received some of the loudest pops and chants during the match. Natalya and Tamina didn’t win the titles that night but the match will always remain special for the 39-year-old.
Tamina is herself a second-generation superstar. She is the daughter of Hall of Famer Jimmy Snuka. Natalya said, “My WrestleMania moment was WrestleMania 37 when I got to team up with one of my closest friends in WWE, Tamina Snuka. Tamina had never won a female championship in WWE before. This was her chance, this was her chance to show everyone that she could do it after 4000 days being in WWE.”
The Rock’s special message before the match
The Rock has always motivated and encouraged other wrestlers, especially the younger generation. Natalya revealed that The People’s Champ had an endearing message for her and Tamina before their WrestleMania match.
Natalya said, “We never told this story, before the match, The Rock sent us both a video message to Tamina’s phone and just said like he wanted us to know when you walk out through that curtain and into that sea of people, he wanted us to know how special that was for us to, to get the chance to represent our lineages, our family, our bloodlines. He really drove home about how important it was that we were doing that and he was just so proud of us and he just believed in us and it just gave us both that boost of confidence that we needed to go out there and just kill it because those moments come once in a lifetime and we both got that incredible moment to shine.”
Natalya and Tamina failed to win the championships that night. However, they didn’t have to wait long. In just over a month from WrestleMania 37, they captured the titles from Jax and Baszler on an episode of SmackDown.
Tamina is currently in pursuit of the WWE 24/7 Championship on RAW. She is in the middle of a unique love-hate story with Akira Tozawa. Natalya is currently wrestling on SmackDown. Last week, she teamed with Baszler to take on Sasha Banks and Naomi. The newly formed team of Banks and Naomi won the match.
