Naomi got the win over Lacey Evans on SmackDown but one move garnered a lot of attention

Former SmackDown Women’s Champion Naomi is finally getting some limelight as she is in a rivalry against Lacey Evans.

While Naomi vs Evans started after the rather questionable Karaoke segment on SmackDown recently, it also saw a social media campaign start which wanted the former champion to get more.

Naomi is also a winner of the Women’s Battle Royal at WrestleMania, and this seemed to be a way to get her more time on WWE.

While fans would have been expecting more, the rivalry between her and Evans isn’t really cutting it.

The pair have clashed several times over the last month or so, and it was Naomi who got the win this week.

However, she tried something different in her arsenal, as she slid out of the ring and almost hit Evans with a Canadian Destroyer.

Naomi was asked about the botched move, but the WWE star explained she was trying to do a completely different move:

While a Canadian Destroyer is certainly a flashy move, a Blockbuster isn’t all that bad either. However, Naomi confirmed that she wasn’t trying to copy anybody and she wanted to improve further:

“It’s just a sliding blockbuster not a Canadian Destroyer, not something I tried to copy from someone else, just a move I thought of bc I like doing blockbusters and wanted a different way to do it but anyway I’ll improve it”

What next for Naomi?

It seems likely that Naomi vs Evans will continue for a while and this could lead up to a clash at SummerSlam.

The title scene for the women’s title on SmackDown is open too after Bayley defeated Nikki Cross.

There isn’t anyone in the title chase at the moment, and Naomi could be the one to take on Bayley.
