Mustafa Ali returned to WWE television a few weeks ago on Raw. He has been involved in a feud with The Miz and United States Champion Theory.

The 36-year-old Mustafa Ali was underutilized during his first stint in the company. He was a victim of lackluster booking. He made his WWE debut replacing Brazilian wrestler Zumbi in the 2016 Cruiserweight Classic tournament.

The Raw Superstar recently appeared on WWE’s The Bump. He said that he came back to WWE for a match against Theory for the United States Championship. The youngest United States Champion in WWE history put Ali in a handicapped match and a couple of matches where The Miz was the special guest referee, resulting in the tides always being in Theory’s favor.

“The Miz, undoubtedly a future WWE Hall Of Famer, a former WWE Champion. He’s done everything, and that goes back to my point. Ever since I came back, I came with the intention to have a match against Theory for the US Title. Theory sidesteps me, The Miz doesn’t know about the match, I don’t know about the match,” he said. “It’s a level, fair, straight-up match, and I won. Every week after that, it’s their advantage, it’s special guest referees. There’s handicap matches, I have a match with a special guest referee with a new opponent.”

“So every week since then, the odds have been stacked against me. But, if you go back to week one when I came back, a straight-up match, I defeated, in the middle of the ring, a former WWE Champion, a future Hall Of Famer. I think we always focus on what’s just happened, that’s the way I am looking at things right now”

“I feel untouchable in the ring.” – Mustafa Ali

On January 16, 2022, Mustafa Ali requested his release from WWE. This was after he was kept out of WWE TV for a few months.

Vince McMahon denied him the release and now it seems he is being treated in a better way. The talented wrestler is seemingly being pushed as a babyface on the mid-card. He is a regular feature on WWE’s red brand.

Ali said he feels untouchable in the ring and thinks he is dangerous. He also asserted that he will become the United States Champion whenever Theory decides to put the title on the line in a match against him.

“I am in my bag right now, I am feeling myself, I feel untouchable in the ring. So, to answer your question, yeah, I am dangerous, I can move, I am quick, I am slick with it. So, when Theory actually decides to grow a set, and give me my United States Championship match, I am going to become the United States Champion.”

A look at exactly how things have panned out for Mustafa Ali since his comeback

Mustafa Ali returned to WWE Television on the April 25 episode of Raw. He showed no signs of ring rust as he defeated The Miz. Tommaso Ciampa attacked him after the match.

The following week, he interrupted an episode of the Miz TV and challenged Theory for his United States Championship. The Miz and Theory accepted but modified it into a 2-on-1 handicap match. Ali lost to the heels after the A-lister delivered a Skull Crushing Finale. Ciampa once again attacked him after the match.

On the May 9 episode of Raw, Ali squared off against former two-time NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa. The Miz was the special guest referee for this match. Miz played the role of a biased referee to perfection. When Ali was covering Ciampa, Miz’s counts were slower than a snail. However, when the Blackheart covered Ali, Miz’s count was considerably quicker and it eventually gave the win to Ciampa.

This week on Raw, he was about to have a match with Theory. However, the youngster opted to have The Miz as the special guest referee once again. Eventually, Theory did not take part in the match and instead chose Veer Mahaan as Ali’s opponent for the night. Ali tried hard but interferences from Theory and The Miz allowed Mahaan to secure the victory. After the match, Theory clicked a selfie while Mahaan had Ali locked in the Cervical Clutch and Miz posing in the background to end the segment.
