Buddy Murphy reveals Vince McMahon ‘demanding’ kiss with Aalyah Mysterio
Former WWE Superstar Buddy Murphy has revealed that Vince McMahon gave the idea for his kiss with Aalyah Mysterio. This was part of a storyline as Rey Mysterio was in a bitter feud with Seth Rollins.
Talking to Chris Van Vliet, he revealed details of the entire storyline saying: (h/t Wrestling Edge)
“I wasn’t comfortable kissing Aalyah. I did that because it was my job and it was gonna create more drama in the story. Originally, there was no kiss scripted and they went to talk about Vince about something and they came back and I’m sitting there and pitching it to me, and it was kinda like weird, but then they’re like ‘and then you kiss her.”
He continued :
“I thought they were joking. I look at the producers and they were serious and I’m like, ‘no way, how did you come back with this?!’ Because my whole thing was that I had to play it very, very carefully, especially the timing of the situation, right?”
Murphy turned face during the storyline after aligning himself towards the Mysterio family. He has since then been released by WWE in early June.
He is serving a 90-day no compete clause after which he is free to sign for any promotion.
Buddy Murphy to face AEW wrestler in first match post WWE release
Murphy, as he is now called, will face Brian Cage at the ECW Arena in Philadelphia on September 18, 2021. This match is going to be his first appearance since April and will be eagerly anticipated.
The fight is set to bring Murphy back to the ring amidst rumours that he is likely to move to AEW. Malakai Black’s arrival in AEW last week, prompted a huge reaction from the wrestling world. Murphy will hope to follow suit and join Tony Khan’s promotion.
His high-flying abilities along with his skillset make him a treat to watch. Wherever Murphy eventually goes, it will be an absolute delight for every wrestling fan.
