Mickie James is one of the greatest female talents ever but she was one of the casualties as WWE decided to release her recently

Mark Henry was unhappy with how WWE treated former champion Mickie James as part of several releases recently.

WWE cut stars such as Samoa Joe, Peyton Royce, Bo Dallas and many more. However, James and Joe were the two that stood out the most.

There was a lot of confusion over what happened to Mickie James against Asuka

James had been in action recently and had only return to WWE a few months back. She is one of the best female talents around and has a long history with the company.

Dave LaGreca and Henry were speaking on the latest Busted Open podcast and the pair were not happy with how WWE dealt with all this.

WWE’s reasoning for the cuts was budgets and LaGreca didn’t like the fact that she was released with the tag line “best of luck in your future endeavours”.

Henry also wasn’t happy with this and claimed WWE should not have done it to a legend like James:

“I would not have done that either.”

Henry then brought up how baseball does a great job of shuffling talent out and shared how WWE should have deal with James:

“I would have not future endeavoured Mickie James. I would have made Mickie James a special assistant to the development of women’s wrestling.

“And I would have had her counsel, critique and analyse with all women’s talent for a certain amount of time.

“And then maybe if that plays out, then you say ‘Thank you Mickie, we didn’t want to release you on the day we released a bunch of wrestlers cause you deserve better.’

“Something to that effect, I would not have made her departure come. Mickie James, for a lack of a better term, is the last of the Divas still around.”

Mickie James gracious in her WWE exit

James has fought the likes of Trish Stratus and many of the top stars from two decades back. She still has something in her and a ton of experience as well.

There is no doubt that James will star in any promotion that snaps her up. The former champion also gracious in her exit and posted several classy updates.

She didn’t hit out at Vince McMahon or the others and went on to add that she had been receiving many supportive messages from all around.

Henry is right that WWE could have held onto her for a few more months before releasing her. However, they did the same thing to Kurt Angle last year and he too is a legend in the business.
