Marcus Stroman dons WWE title at virtual press conference after MLB win
Major League Baseball player Marcus Stroman arrived for his virtual conference showing off a WWE title.
The New York Mets beat the San Diego Padres 4-1, after which Stroman was awarded the replica title. Stroman said that the Mets will be celebrating with this belt whenever they have an exceptional performance from a player.
“We have a little vibe going on days we win in (the clubhouse). Just trying to celebrate all victories, all blessing. I was lucky enough to win pitcher of the day today, and this is what we get to rock for the day. And I’ll be handing it out tomorrow.”
“We’ve been doing it all season. This (belt) is just a little additive that we threw in there now. … We always do pitcher and hitter of the game and we always have a nice little discussion after the game. It’s just something to add to it,” he added.
Stroman was indeed the highlight of the day, going 6.1 innings while preventing the Padres lineup to just one run on six hits, striking out eight. The Mets are leading the National League East division.
WWE Champion Bobby Lashley responds to Stroman
Current WWE Champion Bobby Lashley called out the pitcher on Twitter after his win. He joked of unifying the titles and facing him in a competitive match.
Bobby Lashley won the WWE Championship after beating The Miz and has since then gone on to defend his titles on various occasions. He is currently feuding with Drew McIntyre who holds losses at WrestleMania 37 and WrestleMania Backlash. The duo are set to go all out one final time at Hell in a Cell, with the WWE Championship on the line.
Lashley will be hoping to use the expertise of his manager MVP as well as his brute strength to overcome McIntyre. McIntyre was close to winning the title at WrestleMania before MVP’s interference cost him the match.
Lashley is going to face a returning star at Summerslam, as per reports. The details haven’t been confirmed yet. Will Lashley walk out of Hell in a Cell with a belt around his waist?
