Rhea Ripley faced off against Dakota Kai for a shot at Io Shirai’s NXT Women’s title this week

Former WWE NXT Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley didn’t have a lot to celebrate when going up against Dakota Kai.

Ripley is one of the best stars in the WWE and she is one of the strongest too. She lifted Kai for what seemed to be an hour-long suplex, and former WWE star Lance Storm had something to say about it.

Storm, who used to work with WWE as a producer and in the Performance Center, claimed that Ripley lifted him effortlessly:

“Rhea is so strong. She held me (227lbs) up in this thing one day at the PC. We weren’t even in a ring just on the floor. Rock solid.”

While Ripley showed off some great ability in the ring, things ultimately didn’t go her way.

The Robert Stone Brand makes a mark

Mercedes Martinez, the newest additions to the Robert Stone Brand, got involved in this clash.

While the referee was distracted, she kicked Ripley in the face and cost her the match. While Kai celebrated getting a shot at the title, Ripley was left fuming.

Stone, Martinez and Aliyah certainly were happy over this attack. Stone even claimed that while Ripley was done with Stone’s brand, he wasn’t done with the Aussie.

Stone tried to get Ripley into his brand a while back, however, that failed. Ripley took on Stone and Aliyah in a handicap match but she still won.

While Martinez certainly left a mark on Ripley, this rivalry should be a great watch. Both stars are strong and Stone would love it if Martinez got the better of Ripley when they meet.
