Impact promo for Slammiversary teases return for former WWE superstars Daniel Bryan, The IIconics, and more

Impact Wrestling has seemingly made it a trend to air promos teasing returns of released WWE stars in May. They did it last year with stars such as Eric Young.

And this year, things have taken a similar turn. WWE released a plethora of stars on April 15th citing financial cuts as the reasoning behind it.

Two of the names on the list included Peyton Royce and Billie Kay, who were together known as The IIconics. A few weeks later, news broke that Daniel Bryan is no longer with WWE.

His contract reportedly expired after his career vs title match on SmackDown against Roman Reigns, and he has since stayed coy about his future.

But the latest trailer for Impact’s Slammiversary is teasing a return for the three aforementioned stars, alongside the Forgotten Sons.

Could former WWE stars Daniel Bryan and The IIconics make a return to pro wrestling?

The teaser, which can be seen above, was actually released a few weeks back. But the one posted today has added graphics that point towards Daniel Bryan, The IIconics, Bullet Club, and The Forgotten Sons.

Slammiversary takes place on 17th July 2021 in Nashville, Tennessee and it would be exciting to see if these stars make a comeback.

The inclusion of their logos in the promo, of course, does not mean that they will feature at the event. But it is still a massive hint nonetheless.

Bryan has spoken of his desire to become an independent wrestler recently and a move to Impact will really catch a lot of people by surprise.

This is particularly in the context of him slating TNA back in 2014 for not paying their wrestlers well and not being in the same league as WWE.

But things have changed since then. Ever since TNA was rebranded as IMPACT!, ratings have increased and hiring Bryan, albeit on a light schedule, could be the boost it needs to reach the next level.
