Wrestling great Goldberg is one of the biggest names in the business but he doesn’t have a lot of matches left on his contract

Goldberg might be getting a shot at Bobby Lashley at SummerSlam but the WWE great doesn’t have a lot of matches left on his contract.

The former champion made a shock return after taking a break to challenge Lashley, and it will be interesting to see how that fight takes place.

However, a rematch, should Goldberg lose, might not be on the cards. Goldberg was speaking on The Bump and opened up on how many matches he has left on his WWE contract (h/t Rajah):

“Hey, I’ve only got two more matches on my deal here, so we’ll see what happens.”

Goldberg was then asked to pitch in on who could win between John Cena and Roman Reigns, which also takes place at SummerSlam.

The former champion wasn’t rooting for anyone and lauded Paul Heyman for the work he has done with Reigns. However, he was still keen on facing either of Cena or Reigns:

“What Roman has done for the past few years has been unbelievable. I think it’s fantastic. Paul Heyman has a lot to do with that. I’d love to have a piece of Roman Reigns. I think more so I’d love to get my hands around Cena. But it’s wishful thinking. We’ll see.”

Will Goldberg become a champion at SummerSlam?

Goldberg still has great memories from Survivor Series where he destroyed Brock Lesnar in 2016. That match was his favourite in his WWE career, and it will be interesting to see how he does on Saturday.

A commanding win over Lashley could see the reign of Goldberg return but not having too many matches on his contract would be a problem.

Goldberg still remains one of the greatest ever to have wrestled and it will be interesting to see how things work out at SummerSlam.
