Goldberg and Matt Riddle feuded a couple of times in the past

Although, Matt Riddle and Goldberg’s feud never escalated into a match, the pair have had a history of bad blood for more than 2 years.

The rift started when Goldberg seemingly blocked Riddle on Twitter.

And, the feud came to life when Riddle was alleged to have disrespected Goldberg backstage after the legendary wrestler snubbed a handshake, while he (Riddle) was still a part of the NXT.

Even when Goldberg returned to Raw and posed a threat to Drew McIntyre’s (then champion) title straight away, Riddle did not seem to like it.

In a recent interview with DAZN, Goldberg acknowledged the hard work Riddle has put in, to get to where he is now. Although, Goldberg called him a prick, he gave credit to his dedication.

Goldberg was quoted as saying:

“The cocky kid (Riddle) spouting off his mouth in the beginning, and I didn’t appreciate it very much by any stretch of the imagination. But the guy has put in a lot of frickin hard work and a lot of hard work, and he’s dedicated his life to this business.” [via Wrestling Inc]

He continued:

“Whether I like him as a human being or not, I have to understand and appreciate his passion for the business and his work ethic. Because he works hard and that I appreciate as an athlete and as a human. Is he a prick sometimes? Absolutely. But that’s him. That’s his character, and so am I.” [via Wrestling Inc]

Goldberg is set to face Bobby Lashley for the WWE Championship at SummerSlam 2021.

Matt Riddle and Randy Orton will be gunning for their first Raw tag-team championship as a team

It has been a wild ride for Matt Riddle and Orton. Despite putting up some impressive performances for the last several months, they never got their hands on the title.

At SummerSlam 2021, they will be looking forward to striking gold when they take on the defending Raw tag-team champions AJ Styles and Omos.

The pair of Styles and Omos won the championship at WrestleMania 37 after defeating the New Day.
