Former WWE superstar Ronda Rousey “likely retired” from pro-wrestling

As per the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (h/t WhatCulture), former WWE Superstar Ronda Rousey may not make a comeback to the pro-wrestling world again.

The Rowdy One made huge waves when she made the switch to WWE in 2018 after having made sporadic appearances for the company over the years.

After an angle with Triple H and Stephanie McMahon, Rousey entered a feud with Alexa Bliss and went on to win her first WWE Raw Women’s Championship at Summer Slam 2018. She went on to defend her title against the likes of Nikki Bella, Mickie James, Nia Jax, Natalya, Sasha Banks among others.

At WrestleMania 35, though, Rousey dropped her title to Becky Lynch in a triple threat bout that also had Charlotte Flair. It was the first-ever female main-event at the Showcase of the Immortals. She hasn’t been seen since in WWE.

Ronda Rousey done with WWE?

Following her defeat at WrestleMania 35, Rousey announced that she was taking a break from pro-wrestling to start a family with husband Travis Browne. And last month, she took to her YouTube channel to announce that she is pregnant with the couple’s first child.

This development, coupled with the recent release of Jessamyn Duke, is being cited as reasons that Rousey may potentially be done with WWE and professional wrestling in general.

Duke’s release means WWE cannot go ahead with the long-teased Four Horsewomen vs Four Horsewomen rivalry that would have pitted Rousey, Duke, Shayna Baszler and Marina Shafir against Becky Lynch, Charlotte, Sasha Banks and Bayley.

Although, the report does indicate that Rousey could make one-off appearances at major WWE events every now and then, her time as a regular competitor could very well be over.
