Becky Lynch made her WWE return at SummerSlam but Eva Marie believed the crowd wasn’t behind The Man
The WWE Universe at SummerSlam was greeted to two great returns with Becky Lynch and Brock Lesnar making their comebacks.
Lynch had been away for more than a year as she was pregnant. The Man got married to Seth Rollins in this time and even gave birth to their daughter.
Lesnar, for his part, was away for close to two years with his last loss coming at the hands of Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania 36.
However, the pair were greeted to big pops, even if WWE messed up Lynch’s return a bit. The Man replaced Carmella in a title fight against Bianca Belair. The fans were a little upset as Sasha Banks was to face Belair and the fans were only told of her absence before the match.
Lynch still came out to a huge pop and got the squash win over Belair, but one WWE star wasn’t convinced of all this.
Eva Marie hits out at crowd reaction to Becky Lynch
Eva Marie was in SummerSlam action as she faced Alexa Bliss in a singles match. Marie went on to lose the clash and was even mocked by Doudrop after the defeat.
However, she claimed that Lynch’s pop from the crowd wasn’t bigger than hers. She also commented that Lynch was an up and comer and shared a throwback to a match the pair had during Marie’s first run in WWE.
“I had a MUCH bigger crowd POP and longer match than @BeckyLynchWWE tonight at #SummerSlam , but this up and comer has potential. If she can get as over with the #WWEUniverse as I am, I think she MIGHT be a STAR one day…like me #EVALution”
Marie has done a great job as a heel in WWE and she has taken shots at many people within the company.
The Man vs Eva Marie might not happen at this moment given that the pair are on different brands, but it would be quite a match just for Marie’s reaction.
