Edge has faced countless opponents in his WWE career but he cannot believe he hasn’t fought AJ Styles
Edge has done it all in WWE but is surprised that he hasn’t faced off against one star, AJ Styles.
Styles is one of the greatest stars to have made his way to WWE. However, the former WWE Champion had to do it the hard way.
He worked a lot in the indies and became one of the best in TNA before finally signing for WWE a few years back.
It was unfortunate that Edge wasn’t wrestling at the time since he was recovering from an injury. However, the Rated-R Superstar found it insane how their paths didn’t cross.
He was speaking on the Steve Dangle Podcast and brought up a few other stars that he wanted to face, and Styles seemed to be at the top of the list (h/t Cultaholic):
“A guy like Cesaro, or Seth Rollins, or AJ Styles. With AJ Styles, I started in ’92 and I think he started in like ’96, and we’ve never wrestled, which is insane. We’ve both been in the industry so long but we were always in separate places.
“He was in TNA or in Japan and I was WWE my entire career. That’s another aspect of it too – guys that I haven’t wrestled, that I should have by now. That’s really cool.”
Edge made his full return to WWE last year and seems set to finish off some of these matches now.
Cesaro and Rollins are also top stars and it will be interesting to see what happens with the Rated-R Superstar.
Edge vs AJ Styles will be a top match
Styles and Edge are veterans of the game and this would be a fantastic match between them. However, that won’t take place for a while.
Edge is to headline WrestleMania 37 and unless AJ Styles wins the WWE title, the pair won’t meet until after the grandest show on earth.
Styles put on quite a show against the Undertaker in the Last Ride match, and he is one of the best performers in WWE right he.
Styles might have come to the part late, but he is still capable of putting on a great show. It will be interesting to see if Styles vs Edge does take place but this would be a blockbuster event.
