Sheamus and Drew McIntyre met on Raw last week while Bobby Lashley won the WWE title on the same night
There was a lot to celebrate and digest on this week’s WWE Raw as Bobby Lashley won the WWE title for the first time in his career.
The All Mighty demolished a scheming Miz to pick up the title and become the third African-American to win the gold.
This was also Lashley’s first climb to the top in 17 years of being in and out of WWE and it was a moment to savour.
However, Drew McIntyre was keen on recapturing the title while speaking on Raw Talk. He was attacked by Lashley at Elimination Chamber before The Miz cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase to shock the world.
McIntyre and Sheamus also continued their rivalry on Raw with a brilliant and hard-hitting match to start off the show.
Bully Ray seemed to love this rivalry and wanted to see more of this while speaking on the Busted Open podcast:
“I am saying to myself, ‘damn, I want to see Sheamus and Drew beat the sh** out of each other some more’.
“I like that story, i think there is still legs to that story, despite the fact that Drew won decisively last night and I find myself saying if Drew is with Sheamo what does that leave for Bobby now and there is only one logical answer.”
This would be a blow to McIntyre’s chances at WrestleMania 37 but Ray didn’t confirm that this next step was going to happen.
Brock Lesnar to make a shock return to WWE?
Ray asked Dave LaGreca how he would feel if Brock Lesnar would be back, and the co-host was more than happy for that to happen.
Lesnar hasn’t been seen much since losing the WWE title to McIntyre last year at WrestleMania. While Ray confirmed that McIntyre not having his Mania moment in front of the fans in Tampa Bay would be unfair, Lesnar vs Lashley would be something great too:
“The only reason why I am even thinking I don’t want Drew in a match with Bobby is that I am really enjoying Drew and Sheamus.”
He wanted to also see a proper Last Man Standing match between Sheamus and McIntyre before explaining why Lesnar vs Lashley was going to be great:
“If I get these two guys in Mania, I think I am happy with that. The thought of Bobby vs Brock, it screams a WrestleMania moment, WrestleMania match, WrestleMania marquee.
“The face to face of those two it reeks of money but I don’t know if this is the right time to pull the trigger on Brock or to hold off until next year and let Roman keep the momentum going.”
Lashley has called out Lesnar in the past and both stars are built like trucks. WWE could certainly call Lesnar back just before WrestleMania season and it is to be seen what happens next for the stars from the Red brand.
