Drew McIntyre and Sheamus traded barbs ahead of WWE Fastlane 2021

It seems like WWE Superstars Drew McIntyre and Sheamus can’t wait for Sunday to come.

The two best friends turned foes have been involved in a hard-hitting feud on Monday Night Raw over the past few weeks. And that will blow over this weekend when the two face off against each other in the WWE Fastlane Pay-Per-View event.

The feud kicked off towards the end of McIntyre’s reign as the WWE Champion, with Sheamus turning on his friend and demanding a title shot – which he got at Elimination Chamber alongside four other challengers, in which the Scottish Warrior prevailed after a brutal fight.

In the aftermath, McIntyre was attacked by Bobby Lashley, allowing Money In The Bank holder The Miz to cash in and become the new WWE Champion, only for him to lose it to Lashley a week later.

While that panned out, McIntyre and Sheamus continued their mini-feud on the side, putting out two powerful bouts on RAW before setting up a blow-off match at Fastlane this weekend.

Building up to their match at the Fastlane PPV, Sheamus took to Twitter to throw an insult at McIntyre. Responding to WWE’s graphic for their bout later this week, the Celtic Warrior called his former best friend “Haggis Head”. He also added that it was better that he was at the fore in the image.

Not one to take it lying down, McIntyre hit back at Sheamus, claiming that the Irishman was obsessed with him. Furthermore, the ex-WWE Champion also went on to mute Sheamus on Twitter, while warning him to bring his best for their ‘war’ on Sunday night.

Both McIntyre and Sheamus have shown that they are capable of putting up brilliant fights over the past month. So, the feud blow-off match at Fastlane should be no different.

Once that is out of the way, McIntyre will turn his focus towards regaining the WWE Championship from Lashley. The pair are set to spar at WrestleMania 37 next month.
