Dolph Ziggler reacts as Eric Bischoff joins WWE Hall of Fame in 2021

WWE confirmed on Thursday that former WCW President and WWE performer Eric Bischoff will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in the class of 2021.

The 65-year-old Bischoff is well known for his achievements in the WCW. Starting out as an announcer, he grew into the executive producer to the Senior Vice-President and President in 1997. In the process, he turned the promotion into WWE’s main rivals in the late nineties.

Bischoff played a critical part in the creation of the nWo comprising of ex-WWE superstars in Hulk Hogan, Kevin Nash and Scott Hall, helping WCW beat Vince McMohan’s company in the Monday Night Rating wars for 83 consecutive weeks.

Following the dissolution of WCW, Bischoff had a run with WWE as the General Manager of RAW between 2002 to 2005. Following a stint with TNA, Easy E would return to WWE briefly in 2019 as SmackDown’s executive director. However, he was replaced by Bruce Pritchard four months into the role.

Since then, Bischoff has made several appearances on WWE’s rival promotion AEW. He also hosts a podcast on which he is critical of the current WWE product. Nevertheless, given the critical role he played in WWE’s Attitude Era, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that Bischoff will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.

Bischoff was surprised with the news of him being inducted into the Hall of Fame on WWE’s After The Bell podcast. The news was relayed to him by WWE commentator Corey Graves, following which Bischoff was overcome with emotions.

Reacting to the news of Bischoff’s impending induction, current WWE superstar Dolph Ziggler took to social media. Ziggler, one half of WWE SmackDown tag team champions ‘The Dirty Dawgs’ posted an image of the 65-year-old, as a tribute.

A number of other personalities associated with WWE, both current and former, such as Edge, Jim Ross also congratulated Bischoff on his Hall of Fame induction.

Bischoff becomes just the second member confirmed for WWE Hall of Fame’s 2021 class after former Women’s Champion Molly Holly. The Induction Ceremony will take place on the sixth of April on the Road to WrestleMania 37.

The ceremony will also see the 2020’s class of Hall of Fame getting inducted after the induction last year had to be called off due to the pandemic.

Congratulations to Mr. Bischoff on a well-deserved achievement!
