Damien Priest is one of the most promising Superstars on WWE’s main roster at present. He was the former United States Champion until he lost his title last month to Finn Balor on RAW

Damien Priest recently spoke to Shakiel Mahjouri of CBS Sports ahead of WrestleMania 38. He was asked to pick his dream WrestleMania moment and the one he mentioned was similar to what many wrestlers dream of.

Priest said that it isn’t a good feeling to beat one’s idols but at the same time if it was in a different era, he would have loved to close WrestleMania standing with the title above his shoulders after beating The Undertaker. He also shared that The Phenom is his idol and means the world to him.

“Man, well I mean, it s***s cause you have your idols and your favorites, you don’t wanna beat them up right? At the same time, if it was in a different era just standing, holding a title above my shoulders with the lying body of The Undertaker. You know, out of respect right, obviously, he is my idol like means the world to me so being able to, let’s say have a moment at WrestleMania with him, winning the big one, to go off the air, that would be special.”

Damien Priest has been involved in a feud with Finn Balor of late. After losing the US title to the first Universal champion, Priest turned heel.

The Undertaker has retired from pro wrestling. He last competed against AJ Styles at WrestleMania 36. Priest realizing that his dream moment at WrestleMania with The Undertaker might not be possible stated his alternative plan involving an opponent from the present generation.

While he didn’t name anyone, he mentioned that anyone who has the WWE or the Universal title is a top superstar in WWE. The 39-year-old said he wants to beat that superstar to close WrestleMania.

“Now in this era, I think, you know anybody who has…you know, well now they are gonna be unified. But anybody who has a major championship whether it’s Universal, WWE Championship are at the top of their game. It is what it is. So whoever’s a champion that’s ideally I wanna stand above that person to go off the air at WrestleMania as the new champ. You know like that’s still a dream, that’s still a goal. Will I ever achieve it? I don’t know but I’m gonna do my best to try to make that happen and hopefully along the way I will accomplish a lot of cool stuff too.”

It’s evident that Priest has his goals set. Fans have always been behind him. Now with this heel version, we can maybe, see the best of him. Priest beat Balor this week on RAW in a non-title match. Austin Theory was at ringside. He distracted Balor and allowed Priest to pick up the victory. Balor and Priest are likely to face each other at WrestleMania 38 for The Prince’s US Championship.
