Corey Graves teased a return as he opened this week’s WWE SmackDown

Corey Graves was one of the bright wrestlers on WWE NXT before injuries caught up to him. He had to give up his in-ring career but that didn’t stop him from becoming one of the best commentators ever.

Graves was doing his bit on NXT before getting the call up on Raw and SmackDown. While he hasn’t been seen too many times in recent months, Graves did hold a huge segment on this week’s SmackDown.

AJ Styles, Sami Zayn and Jeff Hardy were quarrelling over who would be the Intercontinental champion ahead of Clash of Champions.

Graves was in the middle of all this as he claimed he was with three of his favourite stars. He also teased how tempting it was to return to the ring before shutting down such talk.

“I got to share a ring tonight with 3 of my genuine favorite Superstars.

“Almost makes me wanna fall off a ladder Sunday, with them…almost.”

Graves’ career might have been cut short but his career on the microphone has gone pretty well. The former NXT star also has his own podcast where he interviews WWE talent.

Graves has another podcast with Carmella, who he is dating, and that is a different take to his more serious After the Bell podcast.

Climbing for the gold

Graves also hinted about how great the three stars on show were. Hardy and Styles are two of the best performers and adding Zayn into all this for Sunday’s Ladder match should be incredible.

Zayn is one of the most underrated stars on WWE’s roster, and he will have a chance of reclaiming his title.

Styles is a former Intercontinental champion himself while Hardy won the title recently. Ladder matches are always special but having three incredible superstars could make this one of the matches of the year.
