Cody Rhodes returned to WWE at WrestleMania 38 and defeated Seth Rollins in a highly-acclaimed match. He got the W against another top WWE Superstar in The Miz last week on RAW.
Cody has certainly returned to WWE as a much bigger star than when he left the company back in 2016. He is all set to face Seth Rollins once again at WrestleMania Backlash.
Cody’s fan following is tremendous and whichever arena he enters, the WWE Universe chants his name relentlessly. The American Nightmare is one of the best wrestlers going around currently and is equally good on the mic.
As per various reports, Cody is currently one of the highest-paid wrestlers in WWE and is in line to receive a major push in the company.
In the latest commercial aired on the USFL broadcast, Cody Rhodes was featured alongside the RAW logo
WWE seems to have zoomed in on Cody Rhodes to make him the new face of the RAW brand while the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns leads the SmackDown side.
During Sunday’s USFL broadcast, a commercial aired to promote Monday Night Raw on USA and Friday Night SmackDown on FOX. The commercial had Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns with the SmackDown logo and Cody Rhodes representing the Raw side.
According to PWInsider, Cody is listed internally as no. 2 in terms of the list of babyfaces on WWE’s red brand with Bobby Lashley taking the top spot. AJ Styles comes third on the list which can change at any time.
During a recent promo, Cody mentioned how he would love to win the WWE Championship. He would have to face the “Tribal Chief” Roman Reigns to achieve the goal. As the Scottish Warrior Drew McIntyre is scheduled to have a feud with Roman Reigns over the next few months, Cody might get his match against Reigns at the 2022 SummerSlam that will take place on July 30 in Nashville. That would certainly be a match that wrestling fans wouldn’t want to miss.
