Former WWE SmackDown star Chelsea Green is in talks with re-joining Impact Wrestling

Chelsea Green was one of the many casualties on 15th April 2021 when WWE decided to release a bunch of superstars due to Covid-19-induced budget cuts.

She had signed a three-year deal with the promotion back in 2020 but was still let go just a few days after WrestleMania 37.

Talking after her release, Green revealed that it was her aim to play a girl that dies in a horror movie. And to achieve that, she said she is targeting a Playboy cover shoot.

But now, a report by Wrestling Observer Newsletter (h/t Ringside News) has revealed that the 30-year-old Canadian is in talks with Impact Wrestling over a possible move.

She was, of course, at Impact Wrestling for two years from 2016 to 2018 where she won the Impact Knockouts Championship and the IKC Tournament in 2017.

Could Chelsea Green make her Impact Wrestling return after WWE release?

As noted above, this will not be her first stint with the Impact Wrestling promotion. Since it was renamed to Impact from TNA, the company has grown in stature.

Just today, it released a promo for Slammiversary that takes place on June 17th. And it featured snippets that teased a return for out-of-contract Daniel Bryan and several former WWE stars.

Could this be the case for Green too? Impact needs to strengthen its women’s roster if it wants to compete with AEW and a former WWE talent in Green would be a great fit.

Impact won’t have as much commitments and scheduling as WWE (or so we hope), giving Green time to pursue her hobbies on the side too.

It remains to be seen what decision she actually takes, and if she wants to come back to Pro Wrestling at all.
