Charles Edward Betts aka Chad Gable is an American professional wrestler. He was a prolific amateur wrestler who competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.
He defeated Jordan Holm 2 to 0 in the final of the 2012 U.S. Olympic Trials in the 84 kg category. He competed in the Greco-Roman style 84kg event where he defeated Keitani Graham from the Federated States of Micronesia in the qualification round.
In November 2013, Betts signed a contract with WWE. He was assigned to the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida where he adopted the name, Chad Gable. He made his in-ring debut at the NXT house show in Cocoa Beach, Florida on September 5, 2014, defeating Troy McClain.
Gable made his television debut on the January 8, 2015 episode of NXT, losing to Tyler Breeze. Gable and Jordan won their first WWE title, the NXT Tag Team Championship, by defeating Dash and Dawson “The Revival.” Chad was drafted to the SmackDown brand in 2016, where he and Jordan defeated The Vaudevillians.
On April 16, 2018, Gable was transferred to Raw Brand, teaming up with Bobby Roode. They won the Raw Tag Team Championship, making Chad Gable the second person in WWE history to hold the NXT, SmackDown, and Raw Tag Team titles.
In August, Gable was announced as one of sixteen competitors in the King of the Ring. He went on reach the finals of the tournament but lost to Baron Corbin in the finals on the September 16 episode of Raw. On the October 18 episode of SmackDown, Gable would shorten his name to “Shorty G”
He soon reverted his ring name to Chad Gable. On the November 13 episode of SmackDown, Gable opened the Alpha Academy and attempted to recruit Otis as his client, turning face in the process.
On the March 7, 2022, episode of Raw, Alpha Academy dropped the titles back to RK-Bro, ending their reign at 55 days.
