Bronson Reed was another shock release from WWE and the Australian reacted to this news

WWE continued its tradition of monthly cuts, it seems, as it released several NXT stars.

Fightful were the first to report the news of the talents getting cut. Most of them were NXT stars but some of them had appeared on the main roster too.

Mercedes Martinez was part of Retribution and featured in some segments on Raw but the big name cut here was Bronson Reed.

The Australian had recently won the NXT North American title but had lost it. There were some big things expected from the large Aussie, but his future now lies elsewhere.

Reed had also been wrestling dark matches on SmackDown, and he took time out to confirm his release from WWE and also served a warning that the best is yet to come.

New Japan, AEW, Ring of Honor and Impact were all tagged in the post, and it seems that Reed wants to create his own opportunity rather than wait.

WWE cutting a ton of talent for Adam Cole?

The other big names that were cut include Jake Atlas, Bobby Fish, Leon Rush and Tyler Rust. A few other names from the NXT roster also faced the chop with some not even making it out of 205 Live.

205 Live has seen a ton of cuts in recent weeks but this could be a play to keep hold of Adam Cole.

The former Undisputed Era leader is out of a contract at the end of the month and Vince McMahon held a meeting with him during this week’s SmackDown.

Reports also suggest that the WWE Chairman had offered a $1million contract to keep hold of Cole, and the cuts could have been part of this.

It will be interesting to see what is next for Cole, but WWE keeps frustrating talents like no other promotion can.
