The Beast Brock Lesnar start the year with a bang at WWE Day 1

WWE Day 1 saw Brock Lesnar start the year as the new WWE Champion. As we all know, Roman Reigns was supposed to compete with Lesnar for the Universal title, but just one hour before the show, Reigns got tested positive for COVID-19 which totally changed the context of the match.

Lesnar was subsequently added to the WWE Championship match, which turned into a Fatal-5 way featuring Big E, Kevin Owens, Seth Rollins, Bobby Lashley and Lesnar. Despite being included in the game at the last moment, Lesnar performed exceptionally well.

The match started with Rollins and Owens trying to team up on Lesnar from the opening bell, but it was just a matter of time as Lesnar took control as he hit both the men with a series of German suplexes before Big E finally jumped on the ring took Lesnar out. Lashley then speared Lesnar through the Barricade.

Lesnar eventually made a comeback to the match as he hit Rollins, Big E and Owens with a series of F-5s before he was hit by a spear again from Lashley for a near fall. The end of the match saw Big E hitting Lashley with a Big Ending and then trying to do the same with Lesnar. The Beast reversed it to counter into an F-5 for the victory.

It will likely be a Lesnar vs Reigns in a title vs title match for the WrestleMania main event, and as far as Big E is concerned, he should consider himself unlucky to lose his title like this.
