Rumors of Brock Lesnar signing with AEW had been doing the rounds recently
It looks like Brock Lesnar wouldn’t be signing with the AEW after all. Recently there were rumors afloat that the ‘Beast Incarnate’ might sign a deal soon with a new promotion.
But, no one knew if it was going to be AEW or Bellator MMA. Since, Lesnar is way past his MMA prime, AEW was believed to be his next destination.
The reports were also from a reliable source, and the AEW have been signing a legion of former WWE stars of late. These factors put together made the pro-wrestling community believe that he would soon be joining Tony Khan’s promotion.
Lesnar’s last appearance in the WWE was at WrestleMania 36 part 2 against Drew McIntyre in April 2020. He lost his WWE Championship to the ‘Scottish Psychopath’ that night.
Reports arose a couple of months after WrestleMania 36 that Lesnar was no longer under WWE contract.
Brock Lesnar signing with AEW 100% inaccurate says Dave Meltzer
The latest development is that the rumors of Lesnar signing with AEW are false. Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer and Andrew Zarian of Mat Men were the first to report the same.
According to Melzer, Lesnar hasn’t had even a proper business discussion with AEW CEO Tony Khan, and AEW people laughed off the rumors of Lesnar signing for their promotion.
And, as everyone knows, Lesnar will still be one of the; if not the biggest name in the promotion if he rejoins the WWE. Hence, WWE CEO Vince McMahon might not let go of his main man that easily.
There are rumors that he might return on the grand stage at WrestleMania 38, next year.
