WWE star Braun Strowman fancies a scrap with ‘The Mountain’ from the Game of Thrones

Braun Strowman and The Mountain, whose real name is Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson, have more in common than people would led to believe.

Both the TV actor and the WWE superstar started out by competing in Strongman competitions. They are also huge men with imposing stature.

Their nicknames also have ‘mountain’ in them, with Strowman calling himself ‘The Mountain of a Man’. And, they’ve undergone insane body transformations recently.

So you’d think that the two would have had a conversation or two in the past considering their similarities. As it turns out, they’re pretty good friends outside their profession.

Strowman shared a photo of The Mountain on Twitter and jokingly wrote, “Let me know when you’re ready to square up!!!! #TheMonsterVsTheMountain

Could we have Braun Strowman vs The Mountain on WWE?

Unsurprisingly, WWE have contacted Bjornsson in the past over. He was even with Triple H in 2015 on WWE NXT.

But he revealed in an interview to Sports Illustrated why a move to the wrestling promotion did not work out for him.

“I already considered it. They did come to me. I saw the facility and I met the people there, but at that time, I was already acting in Game of Thrones. I was already successful in strongman competitions and doing different jobs. I wanted to finish my goal and become the world’s strongest man. That’s the same reason I haven’t been taking more acting roles. Right now, I want to do at least one more year of strong man to show the world that I am the strongest man in the world.”

This was 2 and a half years ago, though, and things could change very quickly. He also has a friend in Strowman who could, maybe, pitch a titanic match between the two to Vince McMahon.

But being big and strong isn’t the only thing needed to be a good pro wrestler. The training, knowledge, and agility required to hold your own in the ring requires effort, and it remains to be seen if Bjornsson thinks a move to WWE is worth all of that.
