Jake Paul comprehensively beat Ben Askren in their boxing match earlier this April

Ben Askren vs Jake Paul is not a fight between two seasoned boxers, but it was still the most hyped boxing encounter so far this year.

It was seen as a chance for Paul to finally go up against an elite athlete instead of NBA players and other YouTubers. But Askren wasn’t really a boxer to begin with.

‘Funky’ had his supporters and doubters but neither of the two sects would have predicted what would unfold in the fight.

Paul won via KO within the first two minutes of the 1st round. Both of them pocketed serious cash and went home happy while MMA and pro wrestling fans were largely left distraught.

And Booker T, a former WWE superstar, revealed that he was actually on Jake Paul’s side before the encounter.

Booker T wanted Ben Askren to get beat up by Jake Paul

Speaking about that match on his Hall of Fame podcast, King Booker explained that it was because of a simple reason; he just didn’t like Ben Askren.

“I was on Jake Paul’s side. I wanted to see Ben Askren go out and get up pretty good just because I didn’t like him. Same thing. just say for instance you put Colby Covington in there. I’ll be wishing for Colby Covington to get beat up just because he [Colby] spews a lot of hate.”

Fair enough, considering millions of watchers wanted to see Jake Paul get beat up just because they did not like him.

Paul finally stopped beating part-timers and carefully chose Askren as a stepping stone. He would probably now target an active UFC fighter like Nate Diaz or Kamaru Usman, with the latter looking more likely.

Jake has been itching for that Conor McGregor money and what better way to call out the Irishman than by saying you’ve beaten the guy that beat him inside the Octagon?
