Bobby Lashley shoots down Goldberg’s WWE title challenge following Raw

WWE Champion Bobby Lashley has rejected the idea of facing Goldberg at SummerSlam after his shock return.

Lashley took to Twitter to shun the idea of a match between the two heavyweights at the ‘biggest event of the summer.’ He said:

“You don’t belong in the same world as me, let alone the same ring. Get that close again, @The305MVP won’t be able to hold me back. No thanks, old man.”

This was after Goldberg returned after Lashley’s open challenge. The All-Mighty has been the WWE Champion since beating The Miz on RAW and hasn’t looked back since.

Lashley beat Kofi Kingston at Money in the Bank, despite a tough fight put up by the member of the New Day.

Goldberg, meanwhile made his last appearance at the Royal Rumble this year. He has been in high profile matches since his return from a 12-year hiatus. He also won the WWE Universal Championship and has faced the likes of Brock Lesnar and The Undertaker.

SummerSlam looks to be one of the biggest events on the sporting calendar this year and will have a packed stadium in Las Vegas.

Will Bobby Lashley give in to Goldberg?

With SummerSlam a month away, Goldberg’s return is no coincidence for the WCW icon. His confrontation with Lashley does signal a singles match for the title in a month’s time. The question remains – will Lashley overpower the legend Goldberg at SummerSlam?

The tweet sent out by Lashley shows a refusal, which also signifies the power that Goldberg still holds. His record of 182-0 in WCW is testimony to his status even at this age. Goldberg will go all in, in the battle of heavyweights at SummerSlam.

Lashley, who beat McIntyre three times in a row since March will be confident of his dominance on the red brand. He will look to use that momentum against a potentially dangerous Goldberg, who could pull of an upset at the big PPV.
