WWE announced shock release of Aleister Black in mass exodus

After the surprise release of Aleister Black last Wednesday, it is highly expected to see him to return sooner than expected.

In a recent podcast, Black thanked Paul Heyman for his constant support and encouragement ever since his entry into WWE.

The decision of his release was unexpected as he returned to WWE after a long hiatus and attacked Big E on WWE SmackDown. (h/t Oral Sessions)

“He reached out to me on the day that it happened. It was very sad. Paul has always said to me, ‘Tom, I think that you’re five years ahead of the business. As brilliant as I think you are, I think that sometimes, that’s your biggest issue.

“You’re so far ahead mentally that people have to catch up to it. I still believe you’re going to do great things.’

– Paul Heyman to Alesiter Black

Black was part of the mass exodus due to budget cuts along with Braun Strowman, Ruby Riott, Lana, Murphy and Santana Garrett.

Black was touted to be one of the rising stars after his performances on NXT. The move to the main roster failed due to the creative team’s mismanagement.

Where will Black be seen Next ?

Black is to wait a 90-day clause after his release before signing for another company. He spoke about the state of wrestling around the globe. He believes that the promotions are doing better now than ever. He also cited Kenny Omega and Jon Moxley as two wrestlers scaling new heights on AEW.

“There are all these other independent companies, not just the independent companies, but guys/companies like Ring of Honor, IMPACT, everyone has their own identity. I think that it is a very important thing because it’s very difficult to have an identity in a landscape that was solely dominated by WWE, but they’re doing it. That speaks volumes of the talent and the creative vision that is out there.”

Black still feels that WWE is leading the pack by a good distance, but rival promotions are catching up slowly.

Black has wrestled over two continents and his remarkable career definitely is far from over.
