WWE considering bringing Aleister Black back and prevent AEW move
Former WWE Superstar Aleister Black is a possible signing for his previous employers as the company’s backroom staff reconsiders the decision of letting him go.
Black is part of the six released Superstars in the first week of June. The list includes Braun Strowman, Lana and Ruby Riott among others. The former NXT Champion is a free agent and waits a 90-day clause to join any promotion.
There continues to be a lot of talk internally, all the way up to top WWE executives that the release of Aleister Black was a premature decision. There’s been talk in recent weeks about AEW interest in him, which has sparked some additional discussion inside WWE.

Whether the executive decision is to bring back the Dutch star is yet unknown, but the company is surely aware of other promotions grabbing this opportunity.
A big example of this decision is the return of Samoa Joe on WWE NXT this week. The former TNA wrestler left the company in April but he returned to WWE and is now the enforcer to NXT GM William Regal.
Why is AEW looking to sign Aleister Black?
AEW is the next-in line promotion after WWE. With a mass exodus of stars heading to Tony Khan’s brand, it is slowly turning into a good business. Stars like Chris Jericho, Cody Rhodes, Christian, Mark Henry have all moved to AEW to continue their careers.
Black is full of experience. He has wrestled across continents from Europe to North America. His stint as the WWE NXT Champion is till date one of the most dominant reigns on the brand.
Black is a highly talented and versatile wrestler with good in-ring promos and mic skills. He offers a diverse move-set which has been welcomed by fans. He is surely a wanted man in the wrestling business.
WWE will be looking to get their man back before he belongs to another rival promotion.
