WWE Superstar AJ Styles tweets following win over Austin Theory on Monday Night Raw
Former WWE Champion AJ Styles went up against Austin Theory on this weeks WWE Raw. Vince McMahon told Austin Theory earlier in the night that he needed to finish off Styles and return with a good selfie, but this time Theory came up short.
After the win Styles took to Twitter and reacted to Theory’s defeat as “not tonight’ which might indicate his selfie-taking after every match.
“Sorry kid, not tonight. #WWERaw“
AJ Styles picks up the victory against Austin Theory on Monday Night Raw
At the very beginning of the match Styles applied a deep headlock that he refused to release. Theory kicked out of a few pinning combinations before Styles nailed him with a dropkick to send him out of the ring.
Then Theory sent Styles face-first into the middle turnbuckle and hit a double stomp. The veteran came back with a significant knee drop and a snap suplex for a pair of two-counts. Finally, Theory dropkicked Styles off the top rope to the floor.
Styles gained some momentum with a powerbomb, hit a Pele kick, and rolled Theory into the Calf Crusher, but he somehow got to the ropes to force a break. Austin tripped Styles on the top cord, but the ref caught him using the ropes.
AJ recovered and struck the Phenomenal Forearm to make the pinfall and won. Unfortunately, this time it was a loss for Theory, and he couldn’t take the selfie that McMahon asked for.
