Austin Theory won the United States Championship recently. So who are the 5 potential US Champions after Theory?
Just a month ago, Austin Theory got his hands on the WWE gold for the first time as he won the United States Championship. Since winning, he has defended the title only once against The American Nightmare Cody Rhodes. Unfortunately, he lost the bout but retained the championships via disqualification.
Many challengers have the potential to dethrone Theory from the title. However, some stars have made it clear that they want the belt. Here are the 5 Potential US Champions after Austin Theory.
5. Mustafa Ali
Mustafa Ali is the one person we might see as the next US Champion. After a long gap, he recently returned to WWE due to falling out with management and requesting his release. However, now the fans are livid to see him back, and he could undoubtedly get a push now.
He is a great professional wrestler and has shown excellent high-flying moves. Ali has good sealing. He builds drama and tension. Ali can be the right choice to become the following United States Champion. He has shown tremendous potential, and his feud with Theory can also be exciting.
4. Ezekiel
Ezekiel could become the next US Champion. The rising star has four wins and only one loss since debuting on Raw after WrestleMania 38. In addition, he is undefeated in singles competition.
By winning the title, he’d be able to accomplish something his older brother Elias couldn’t do. He did hold the WWE 24/7 Championship on a few occasions but never held the United States Title belt.
Ezekiel is currently in a feud with Kevin Owens, but if he defeats him, he could certainly go for the US title.
3. Tommasso Ciampa
Since Ciampa made his debut on the main roster, he has been looked at as someone with huge potential. However, he had an odd run thus far. It seems like there has been no definite direction to his RAW run.
Since April, the Blackheart had four wins under his belt on the WWE Main Event. Despite not having a proper way, he can undoubtedly go on to win the US title from Theory.
He could elevate the championship standards with the experience he brings to the table. He is a former NXT Champion and made it more valuable. Fans will hope to see him win the title and bring the same energy to the US Championship.
2. Bron Breakker
The son of WWE Hall of Famer Rick Steiner has shown what he is capable of by winning the NXT Champion in two successions. He has already appeared on RAW twice this year. His second appearance saw him win the NXT Championship from Dolph Ziggler, a former United States Champion.
Bron could go on to hold a secondary championship, and this early success could help him get ready for bigger challenges in the future. Breakker is a formidable force to be reckoned off.
1. Cody Rhodes
The American Nightmare has been undefeated since returning to WWE at WrestleMania 38 with victories over Seth Rollins, Kevin Owens, The Miz and Theory.
He almost got the victory against the young champion on RAW, but the match ended with disqualification. So Once Rhodes’ feud with Seth Rollins gets over, he may set his back on the United States Championship.
