Fifth seed Tamara Korpatsch locks horns with France’s Emeline Dartron in the round of 16 of the WTA Angers Arena Loire Open.
Tamara Korpatsch
The German tennis pro was in solid form in the last couple of tournaments she played before coming to Angers. In fact, she has made it to at least the semifinals in each of the last three tournaments she played before beginning her campaign here.
In the round of 32, Korpatsch faced America’s Elizabeth Mandlik. The 27-year-old defeated Mandlik in three sets after going down in the first set. The match eventually ended 3-6, 6-1, 6-1 in favor of Korpatsch. She was impressive with her serves and had a win percentage of 79 on the first serve. She also committed only one double fault during the entire match.
Emeline Dartron
The 22-year-old also came to Angers on the back of some good form. In the ITF event that took place in France last month, Dartron finished runner-up.
Dartron began her campaign in the tournament with a hard-fought win against Pemra Ozgen of Turkey. Like Korpatsch, Dartron also bounced back strongly after losing the first set. The match eventually ended 6-7 (2-7), 6-3, 6-2 in favor of the young Frenchwoman.
Head-to-Head and Prediction
The head-to-head scoreline currently stands at 1-0 in favor of Tamara Korpatsch. She defeated Dartron in a one-sided affair in the round of 16 of an ITF event in France in 2018.
Prediction: Tamara Korpatsch to win in straight sets.
