World TeamTennis 2020 results and winners: Philadelphia Freedoms, Chicago Smash, and Orange County Breakers record wins at the World TeamTennis on Monday

Philadelphia Freedoms continued their dominance in the World TennisTeam 2020 season with a victory over Springfield Lasers on Monday.

The Freedoms moved to 5-1 with the win, while the Lasers fell to just 1-5 after playing six matches in total. The Philadelphia Freedoms overthrew the Springfield Lasers 23-17, winning the first game in extended play to seal the victory.

American Taylor Fritz won the man of the match award for his win in the singles and doubles category of the men’s section.

Chicago Smash continue their winning ways

Meanwhile, in the second match of the day, newcomers Chicago Smash recorded a comfortable 20-16 win over San Diego Aviators.

The Smash continued their winning ways on Monday, beating the San Diego Aviators in a back-and-forth matchup, 20-16. They are now just one spot behind Freedoms in second place having won five matches and lost one.

Chicago’s Rajeev Ram was adjudged player of the match following his victories in the men’s and mixed doubles events for his side. Unlike Chicago, San Diego now sits at 3-4, outside the current postseason picture.

In the last match of the day, Orange County Breakers got back to winning ways after recording a 24-14 win over New York Empire. The Breakers improved to 3-4 with victory, while the Empire are now 3-3. However, they still remain in the top-four.
