Nick Kyrgios progressed to the final of the Wimbledon after Rafael Nadal had to pull out before their semi-final clash owing to an abdominal injury.

The Australian has been in the news for mainly the wrong reasons but his performances have been quite impressive, to say the least. Two out of Kyrgios’ four matches till now have been decided in the fifth set. He started his campaign with a hard-fought win over Paul Jubb. He followed it up with a comfortable win over Filip Krajinovic in straight sets. The third-round match that Kyrgios had with Stefanos Tsitsipas was a heated affair. Both players have been fined for their behavior during the match.

In the Round of 16, Kyrgios defeated Brandon Nakashima in a riveting clash. The quarter-final match against Cristian Garin was won convincingly by Kyrgios in straight sets.

The 27-year-old made it to his first singles semi-final at a Grand Slam. Now with Nadal’s walkover, he has reached the final and will square off against the winner of the semi-final match between Novak Djokovic and Cameron Norrie.

Taking a look at Nick Kyrgios’ stats against Novak Djokovic and Cameron Norrie

Nick Kyrgios will go into the final after getting three days of rest while the winner of Novak Djokovic versus Cameron Norrie will have to play after a gap of just one day.

Kyrgios won’t mind seeing the match between Djokovic and Norrie go to five sets. The Serbian is the favorite to progress to the final and Kyrgios fans will be happy to know that the Australian holds a 2-0 lead over the 20-time Grand Slam champion in terms of head-to-head stats.

However, Cameron Norrie leads the head-to-head by a 2-1 margin over Kyrgios. The world No. 40 will surely be watching the semi-final encounter to take notes of the strengths and weaknesses of both the players.
