Why Spurs need Zaha more than Grealish this summer
Reports are circulating that Tottenham Hotspur will snub the bid to buy Wilfried Zaha and concentrate on signing midfielder Jack Grealish instead. While the former wants to leave Selhurst Park to play at a higher level, the latter is a victim of Aston Villa getting rid of players due to their ongoing financial problems.
However, perusing the situation Spurs are at the moment, they would need a mercurial winger who can make a telling difference rather than a central creative midfielder. The likes of Christian Eriksen, Dele Alli and Erik Lamela can fill that void of fabricating chances in attacking midfield. The north London club, right now, doesn’t have an impactful winger. So getting Zaha would make more sense.

Why Zaha over Grealish for Tottenham
In the current Spurs squad, there are plenty of options in midfield in terms of ball-playing midfielders or holding defensive players. However, with regards to pace in behind, they had an in-form Heung-Min Son last season, who will miss the opening part of next season due to international commitments.
So, Mauricio Pochettino’s men are now down to likes of Lucas Moura, who’s hardly had a kick thus far since his arrival in January.
We have also seen Spurs struggle in games where opposition teams defend deep and provide no space in between the lines for technical players to operate. This is where Zaha can be influential with his unique blend of creativity and positive unpredictability.
Hence, it will make complete discernment for the club and the manager to try everything in buying the Crystal Palace winger. There is no doubt that Grealish is also a fantastic player in the midfield, however, with regards to preference, Spurs need Zaha more at this current point in time.

Well, if finance supports, getting both players this summer could massively improve the Tottenham squad. But with new stadium costs, signing anyone might just be possible for the north London club. In that case, they should try their best to sign Zaha and rather stall the move for Grealish.
