Having consecutively finished in the top-three in previous seasons, the upcoming term will be Tottenham’s best chance to lift the Premier League title. To that end, signing Schurrle could have been a shrewd move.

Schurrle will always be remembered for playing a prominent role in Germany’s historic 2014 World Cup title triumph. He scored three goals for Germany and also played a key role in their iconic 7-1 win against Brazil. Furthermore, it was Schurrle’s crucial cross that set up Mario Gotze’s winner against Argentina in the 113th minute, gifting Germany their fourth World Cup title.
