Why Real Madrid should offload Gareth Bale in the summer
According to The Sun, Welsh winger Gareth Bale is set to stay at Real Madrid beyond the summer due to the crisis created by the coronavirus pandemic.
The report also suggests that with the on-going issues, it is unlikely for the Spanish giants to make a big-money signing in the summer.
Bale, 30, has enjoyed a successful career in Spain, winning almost everything at the club level. He has established himself as one of the best wingers in Europe and played a crucial role in the club’s Champions League-winning campaigns.
However, with several injuries and a lack of commitment in the past couple of seasons, it is high time Real Madrid sold Bale. He has not been at his best in recent times and should be allowed to leave Santiago Bernabeu at the earliest.
Madrid – The story so far
Zinedine Zidane’s men have made a tremendous comeback this term after facing heavy criticism for their performance in the previous campaign. The departure of Cristiano Ronaldo and the manager himself in the summer of 2018 left a huge void at the Spanish capital’s club.
At the moment, they look to be a fine unit after Zidane’s return for his second stint as manager. They have been brilliant at the back, letting in just 20 goals so far – the best defensive record in La Liga.
Speaking of the attacking unit, Eden hazard was brought in last summer but the Belgian has struggled with injuries. Karim Benzema is their top scorer with 14 league goals so far and is ever-present in the squad.
In the wide areas, youngsters Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo Goes have been excellent. Apart from them. Lucas Vazquez and Marco Asensio are also available at the manager’s disposal. Thus, with plenty of options in their ranks, Madrid should offload Bale in the summer.
Bale has featured in 14 league games so far, making just 11 starts and has contributed with only 2 goals and 2 assists. This clearly indicates that he is no longer important to the manager. He has fallen down the pecking order and doesn’t seem like the player he once was.

The Spanish giants have enough options for both the present and the future and keeping Bale would only waste their resources. Thus, letting the Welshman would be helpful for both the club and the player himself.
