Why Leeds United should make a move for Harry Wilson

According to Leeds Live, Leeds United are interested in signing Liverpool youngster Harry Wilson, who is currently on loan with Bournemouth.

Wilson, 23, is a product of Liverpool’s youth academy. He has spent most of his career on loan with several clubs and seems to find it hard to book a spot for himself in Jurgen Klopp’s team. After a productive last season with Derby County, he was sent on loan to the South Coast with Bournemouth last summer.

He has been brilliant in the past few years and it would be the right option for him to move away from Anfield to develop his career. Thus, Leeds should take this opportunity to make a permanent move for the Wales international.

Leeds boss Bielsa has managed to get the best out of his team this season despite most of the main players being at the club on loan. However, the manager should start focusing on strengthening the squad for next season. Leeds need to bring in reinforcements to their defensive unit, with Ben White’s future uncertain at the club and Gaetano Berardi’s contract coming to an end in the summer.

Wilson – A future leader in the attack for Leeds United?

Apart from a defensive signing, the manager should also look to reinforce the attacking unit. Patrick Bamford is the only centre-forward available as Jean-Kevin Augustin is set to return to Germany after his loan spell end. In the same way, Helder Costa and Jack Harrison could also be on their way to their respective clubs when their loan spell expires this summer.

Thus, without any other established winger in the squad, Leeds should make a move for a young and in-form winger and make sure they have the required depth in every area.

In that regard, signing Wilson would do them a world of good. The young Welshman is in a rich vein of form. After scoring 15 goals in 40 league games for Derby last season, he has continued with the fine form this term. In 23 Premier League games for the Cherries, he has managed to find the back of the net 7 times. He would definitely add depth to Bielsa’s squad and bring healthy competition.
