Eva Marie could make a return to WWE on Raw but why did she leave the company?

One of the big rumours doing the WWE rounds is about the return of Eva Marie. The then red-haired star made a splash on TV thanks to her hair colour and spent close to four years with the company.

Marie signed for WWE by chance after a casting call and was handed a four-week try-out after impressing scouts.

She then went on to make her debut on the main roster in 2013 and also featured in several shows such as Total Divas.

Marie also had a move to NXT for a year before returning to the main roster in 2016. She was suspended by WWE for a violation of the wellness policy in 2016 before leaving the company in 2017.

Rumours were suggesting that she was to make a return to Raw on Monday. Fightful Select (h/t Wrestling Inc), however, clarified that Marie isn’t a confirmed return on the show this week.

Further, the report says that Marie has not been advertised for the Raw Legends promos but she was present on the 14 December Raw and also dressed for promos.

There is no news of what her role could be but it could be that of an ambassador. She was also slated to be one of the people who admire the new look Angel Garza but we will have to see what happens next with her.

Why did Eva Marie leave WWE?

While many stars have left WWE on bad terms, that is not the case for Marie. She has become a movie star and has her own line of fitness products.

The former WWE star also posts a lot of content on social media and she spoke of her relationship with WWE after she was released.

Marie was speaking to Rolling Stone a few years back and claimed she still had a great relationship with Stephanie McMahon, Vince McMahon and Triple H.

She thanked them for the opportunity to work in the movies but she didn’t turn down the chance of returning to WWE:

“I’m going to put my efforts into acting and growing that way. And then you never know: All Red Everything could come back and snatch that title.”

The question about her wrestling legacy, when compared to Charlotte Flair and Natalya was also brought up.

Marie doesn’t have a huge wrestling heritage and that allowed her to try something else. However, she is more than willing to come back to WWE:

“But my ultimate goal too is to be with WWE for the next 20-plus years. So, just like the Rock does, the name of the game is to be able to take your brand and strategically plan it. And that’s why I’m grateful that WWE allowed me to step away and pursue this acting career.”

The Rock’s ex-wife, Dany Garcia, was managing Marie at the time of this interview and the former WWE star has come a long way.
