Why Newcastle ace Allan Saint-Maximin would be a brilliant addition to Arsenal

As per Le 10 Sports (h/t Metro) Arsenal have been in contact with Newcastle United winger Allan Saint-Maximin over a potential summer move.

The French youngster has matched the demands of the Premier League physically and that can be seen from his incredible pace and skills so far this season. At just 23, the player has all potential to carve a name for himself.

Arsenal have shown promise ever since Mikel Arteta has taken charge and have shown great developments. The team have shown improvement after their thrashing against Manchester City and their close loss against Brighton.

Does the signing make sense?

Arsenal have a lot of players on the flanks, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Bukayoko Saka, Nicolas Pepe and Reiss Nelson. But a new addition won’t hurt the Gunners but it would rather increase the bench strength and add more quality to the squad.

Saint-Maximin is among the players who would be a viable option for the Gunners to add good depth to their line-up.

Though the Frenchman’s numbers from his time at OGC Nice don’t match the player’s numbers at Newcastle, the player has been a great asset to the team and has the ability to improve and grow. In Saint-Maximin, Arsenal can find a winger who is comfortable playing on either flank.

The Gunners need reinforcements to strengthen their team for a top-four push next season and need enough options to rotate their squad if they manage to reach the Europa League. That’s why signing someone like Allan Saint-Maximin would make sense.

Furthermore, the player’s work ethics and ability on the ball will prove to be a bonus. The youngster has shown that his ability in the final third is good and he has a few tricks in place. Arsenal as a club have a good history with young players, which is pretty evident, and Saint-Maximin does fall under that category though he is 23.

He could also represent them in the long run if he succeeds. If Arsenal can manage to convince the youngster that he could have a future at the Emirates, it would be a good deal in the end.

Thus, signing this exciting 23-year-old Newcastle star could prove to be a great addition to Arsenal’s ranks and provide for good competition to the other youngsters out there. As for Saint-Maximin, he should be ready to warm the benches initially, as playing for Arsenal doesn’t come easy.
