Who is Rhian Brewster? All you need to know about this Liverpool sensation

According to a report by The Sun, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain are interested in signing Liverpool youngster Rhian Brewster this summer. Over the last year or so, numerous promising stars have emerged from the Merseysiders’ academy.

The best example would be Trent Alexander-Arnold, who has made quite a name for himself in the Premier League. And Brewster is also regarded as one of the most promising young players at Liverpool.

However, the 18-year-old is yet to sign a new contract with the club which has led to speculation about his future. With the likes of Juventus and PSG interested in him, it remains to be seen if he continues with Liverpool. Nevertheless, let’s take a look at his profile to see what makes him so exciting.

Who is Rhian Brewster?

Born in 2000 in Dagenham, United Kingdom, Brewster has something in common with the likes of Daniel Sturridge and Dominic Solanke. Quite like the other two, the youngster was a part of Chelsea’s youth academy prior to joining Liverpool. In hindsight, Brewster made a smart move by leaving the club since staying back would have meant becoming a part of Chelsea’s infamous loan system.

Hence, he joined Liverpool in 2015 and became an important part of the U18 squad. His rise was nothing short of meteoric as the teenager booked a spot in the club’s U23 side at the tender age of 16. Despite his heroics, it is surprising to learn that Liverpool are yet to offer him a new contract.

What are his strengths and weaknesses?

A forward by trade, Brewster is a natural goalscorer. His attacking flair and eye for the goal truly set him apart from his contemporaries.

In addition to that, the player also boasts of an admirable work rate.
Brewster is quite versatile and can play on either wing and as a striker. His pace and creativity can split even the toughest defences apart, making him an asset to his side.

In fact, he has all the qualities required to work wonders for Jurgen Klopp. However, going forward, Brewster must have greater clarity about his preferred position.

Furthermore, he should also work on his physicality and strength to survive in a league as demanding and intense as the Premier League.

What does the future hold?

Ideally, Liverpool should retain his services. Brewster is a gem of an attacker and is set for a bright future, provided he is in the right environment. Until now, his performances for the Reds have been quite encouraging.
