Wheeler Yuta has been in the news ever since his brutal match against Jon Moxley on AEW Rampage this week. In this article, we will share details on the 25-year-old.
Wheeler Yuta is the current ROH Pure Champion. He is a high-flyer and has some cool moves in his repertoire. The Yuta lock, Flying splash, Stinger Splash, Tope Suicida, and enzuigiri are a few of his go-to maneuvers.
He won the Chikara Young Lions Cup Championship on one occasion. Yuta also won the Dojo Pro White Belt Championship once. Last week he faced Bryan Danielson on AEW Dynamite in a tremendous match. Yuta’s parents were also in the audience and it was a proud moment for someone who idolized Bryan.
This week, however, on Rampage, he delivered an even better performance and Moxley deserves a lot of credit for making him look so stunning.
Wheeler Yuta vs Jon Moxley
Jon Moxley is known for his intense, gruelling matches. He takes brutality to a different level and he found a great opponent in Wheeler Yuta to deliver a jaw-dropping bout.
Yuta said before the match that he was going to earn Moxley’s respect by the end of the night. Moxley said it’s not his job to show him respect. He would rather spill Yuta’s guts all over the arena so everyone can find out what he’s really made of.
Moxley stomped Wheeler’s face right against the steel steps early on in the match. Yuta was busted open courtesy of the brutal assault. However, the brutality had just begun. Yuta fought through pain valiantly and kicked out of Paradign Shift on a couple of occasions to frustrate Moxley.
Yuta was audacious in his effort as he even stole Moxley’s bulldog choke finisher. However, the veteran would have the last laugh as he choked Yuta Unconscious and won the match, but the youngster didn’t tap out.
After regaining consciousness, Yuta saw that William Regal and Bryan Danielson were also in the ring alongside Moxley. He clenched his fist ready to fight but Regal offered him a handshake as a show of respect. Yuta obliged as the crowd gave a huge pop.
It will be interesting to see if Wheeler Yuta joins the Blackpool Combat Club after putting in a stellar shift against the former AEW World Champion Moxley.
